My career in mortgage banking began with a job as a loan processor in 1967. In 1972, after my first child was born, I took a break to raise my family. Liberty Bank and Trust opened their mortgage division in 1989 and I received an offer in 1991 to work in post-closing. Today, as a loan originator, I do what I love the most. Helping people with the financing of their new home and seeing the joy when they get the keys to their dream home brings me such happiness and feelings of accomplishment. And now, 28 years later, I have worked in all aspects of mortgage banking with Liberty Bank. My experience goes from loan originator, to processor, closer, post -closing, shipping and funding. Along the way I was promoted to supervisor, manager, loan officer and currently am assistant vice-president. I’m very proud to say that after Katrina Liberty Bank opened their doors and began doing renovation loans to help rebuild our city. I personally managed the draws and monitored construction for this renovation program. A lot has changed in the mortgage industry over the years, but the one thing that remains for me, is the wonderful feeling you get when you help someone get a home.
I’m an active member of the First United Methodist Church and have served on several committees, participated in the handbell choir and spent over 15 years as a youth advisor. As a youth advisor I had the privilege of going on youth mission trips in the Appalachian Mountains helping to build and repair homes in the community.
I’ve been blessed with four (4) children and six (6) grandchildren. They are my life and source of happiness that cannot be measured.
